This weekend will see a crossover between #Casualty and #HolbyCity with a #CyberAttack affecting the hospital. Needless to say this is a dramatisation but it is expected that the consequences will seem real enough. Of course a Cyber Attack on a hospital isn’t something new as we all saw the impact of Wannacry a couple of years ago.
At the end of nearly every TV programme we get a statement ‘if you have been affected by anything in this programme visit …’ In this case, ‘if you have been affected by anything in this programme it may be to late, but by implementing the #CyberEssentials controls you give yourself a fighting chance.
Cyber Essentials offers businesses, irrespective of size or sector, the tools to protect themselves against the most common Cyber Attacks. For many businesses to protect themselves it will cost £0, for others they may need to invest in new IT equipment to bring themselves into compliance. The only charge for Cyber Essentials is if you require external validation of your system which starts from around £300.
Hopefully next weeks programme will excite people but most of all I hope it encourages people into making sure your security is up to date.
